Canadian Premium Meats' success will be dependent upon the success of their clients.

Canadian Premium Meats Inc. (CPMI) has identified the need for a federally registered and European Union (EU) approved custom slaughter and processing plant in western  Canada. CPMI will be addressing that need with a plant in Lacombe, Alberta.

Many livestock producers recognize the opportunity existing in niche markets such as: organic, natural and hormone-free beef; bison; elk; and venison. Several producer groups have already formed production and marketing alliances to form a strong voice with wholesalers and retailers. However, all three links - production, processing and marketing - of the chain need to coordinate to make all of them successful.

CPMI will concentrate solely on custom processing livestock and will NOT be involved in the processing and marketing of their own branded meat products. No conflict of interest will exist with their clients as CPMI strives to provide the best possible service by providing:

• CFIA registered and EU approved slaughter and meat processing
• Advanced meat tracking capabilities
• Yield analysis and custom meat cuts

• Grading information back to producers
• Cooler and freeze storage
• Logistical and export assistance
